Eating a diverse diet is integral to helping little bodies grow. In SOUPer foods, children learn about the importance of eating a varied diet and that we can incorporate MyPlate components without actually eating on a plate! Foods can be mixed together in a comforting bowl of soup. Perfect for chilier months, this program begins with the reading of Soup Day by Melissa Iwai and ends with children trying their very own cup of warm delicious vegetable soup. Along the way, students will learn to match various foods with their respective food groups and collaborate to make a large bowl of imaginary soup using pretend ingredients.
