Hether Frayer was wondering a few years back what to do with all the kale that was filling her CSA box each week. So she got to work experimenting in her Kalamazoo kitchen with different kale chip recipes. The idea was pretty simple: Take a sometimes boring superfood and turn it into a super snack that would leave a muncher’s mouth happy and body brimming with all the nutritional goodness the leafy green veggie is so well known for. After two years and countless test batches, a kale chip was born that is light and airy, delicate on the tongue but bursting with bold flavor. There’s a lotta kick in these chips. Why not enjoy what you know is good for you?

Kaleamazoo Chips are dehydrated, which means all the goodness in the kale remains after the production process is complete. They come in two flavors, “Lemony Kick-It,” which packs a bold, clean, citrusy bite and “Lime Coconut,” a milder but just as delicious variety with shreds of organic coconut and hints of organic lime juice. The chips make a great snack by themselves, but are also delicious on salads, eggs, baked potatoes or your favorite hors d’oeuvres.

Kaleamazoo Chips also sells spice packs for each flavor, containing the proprietary blend of spices in just the right amounts for the do-it-yourselfer to bake a batch of kale chips in their own home. They also make great seasonings for vegetables, popcorn, marinades and dressings.

Our kale comes from small, local, sustainable farms. We use organic coconut and olive oils, organic lemon and lime juice, and all natural spices. Kaleamazoo Chips are handcrafted with love in small batches and the product is licensed with the Michigan Department of Agriculture.

All profits from the sale of Kaleamazoo Chips go to fund "Fresh Food Fairy Nutrition Education,” a program Frayer founded that makes healthy food and eating well a FUN, positive experience for young people.
